The rules for the baccarat banker's third card is different from the rule for the players third card.  It is worthwhile to gain at least some knowledge of how the drawing of cards and the dealing works.

The banker must stand if the banker hand has a total of either 6, or 7.  A total of 8 or 9 is a natural and no extra cards are needed.  Even if the player stand, the banker hand will draw a third card if the total is between 0 - 5.  If the player hand has received a third card, the banker hand will draw cards according to the following rules:

If the banker has a hand in which the total points equal 2, the banker would draw another card (the third card).  In this case, it makes absolutely no difference what the players third card is.

If the banker has a hand in which the total points equal 3, the banker would only draw a third card if the total points of the players hand is any number apart from 8.  If the player hand is equal to 8, the banker would have to stand in this case.

If the banker has a hand in which the total points equal 4, the banker would only draw a third card depending on what the players third card was.  If the players third card was Ace, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen or King, the banker may not draw a third card.  If the players third card was 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or 7, the banker may draw a third card.

If the banker has a hand in which the total points equal 5, the banker would, once again, only draw a third card depending on what the players third card was.  In this case, the banker will not draw another card is the players third card was Ace, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen or King.  The banker would, however, draw a third card if the players third card was 4, 5, 6 or 7.

If the banker has a hand in which the total points equal 6, the banker would only draw a third card if the players third card was either a 6 or a 7.  If the players third card was Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen or King, the banker may not draw a card in this instance.
