Online Casino Welcome Bonus – Understanding Casino Welcome Bonuses
Online casino welcome bonuses are granted to players when they open an online casino account and make a deposit. Check out the small print of these bonuses. The welcome bonus is the largest and most prolific type of bonus, and can be subdivided into a number of different types and styles. A welcome bonus basically however, is a bonus that the casino will give you for opening a money account with them and making a deposit. The major types of welcome bonus are as follows:
Cash Match
Probably the most popular of all casino bonuses, the cash match bonus is what is usually being referred to when you see a casino advertising "$x free". This type of bonus isn't actually free money, but rather it is a reward for your deposit and its amount will depend on it. There are a number of different types of Cash Match, for example you may find a 100% cash match, or even a 150% cash match. On the other hand, you may find a 50% cash match. The details of all of these types of bonuses will be outlined if you click on the banner on the site – always be sure to read those details. Basically, however, if you deposit $100 that gives you a 100% cash match welcome bonus, you will find your starting credit to be $200.
Staggered Cash Match
This is essentially a cash match bonus but it may give you a higher percentage match if you deposit more. For example if you deposit $50 you may get a 50% match, but if you deposit $100 you may get a 100% match. Alternatively, you may find some casinos offer a staggered cash match that gives the incentive to make multiple deposits. For example, on your first deposit you may get 50%, on your second one 75%, third one 100%, fourth one 200%, fifth and final one 250%.
Make your Own
Another type of welcome bonus doesn't depend on the amount that you deposit, although the minimum deposit will be required. In this type of welcome incentive, the casino will give you a set amount of time and a certain amount of credit to play with. This credit is yours to make the most of in the time allocated to you. The winnings of that period you get to keep – that's your welcome bonus. Most of these casinos do also offer a consolation prize of a set amount of free credit should you not do so well in your endeavors.
All of these rewards are subject to play limits and wagering requirements, meaning that if you want to withdraw funds, you must have played a certain times the amount of money you were given in the bonus. Additionally, the value of the bonus when advertised is with the cheapest game to play; not all bonuses are usable with all games and a particular bonus won't necessarily have the same value for all games it can be used with. For example a $100 bonus may give you just that to play with on slots, but if you want to play on table games, you may find yourself with only $50 of credit.
